Bank card and phone showing a payment approval tick for SHEIN payment methods in South Africa

SHEIN South Africa accepts four payment methods according to its own payment page: credit and debit cards, PayPal, Capitec Pay and Payflex. Cash on delivery is not offered, and the page does not list EFT or Apple Pay. This guide explains how each method works at checkout, how to split a larger order into instalments, and how coupons and SHEIN points fit in.

Bottom line: Pay by card or PayPal for the simplest checkout, use Capitec Pay if you bank with Capitec and want to skip typing card details, and choose Payflex if you want to spread the cost. Enter your coupon and click apply before you continue to payment. Checked against SHEIN's payment page on 25 September 2026.

Payment Methods SHEIN South Africa Accepts

Method How it works Best for
Credit or debit card Enter your card details on SHEIN's secure payment page Most shoppers
PayPal You are redirected to PayPal and confirm by logging in Shoppers who already use PayPal
Capitec Pay Enter your cellphone number, then approve the payment in the Capitec app Capitec clients who want to skip card details
Payflex Sign up or log in, get approved in seconds, then split the total into instalments Spreading the cost of a bigger order

Paying by Credit or Debit Card

Card is the default for most orders. SHEIN's payment page shows the card brands it supports and says the ones listed are the most commonly used, so you should still try your card if its brand is missing. SHEIN states that it does not collect your card number or personal information when you pay, and it directs any questions about a transaction to your card-issuing bank.

You do not need a PayPal account to use the PayPal route. If you choose "Pay with Debit/Credit Card" at checkout, SHEIN redirects you to a secure page where you can enter your card information or complete the payment through PayPal.

Paying With PayPal

Choose PayPal at checkout and SHEIN redirects you to the PayPal payment page. You confirm the payment by logging in with your PayPal username and password.

Paying With Capitec Pay

Capitec Pay is available to South African Capitec clients and lets you pay without sharing card details. The steps are short:

  1. Choose Capitec Pay at checkout.
  2. Enter your cellphone number.
  3. Approve the payment in the Capitec app.

If you are already signed in to the SHEIN app, SHEIN's page says you can tap Transact and then Capitec Pay to approve the payment.

Paying With Payflex (Pay in Instalments)

SHEIN describes Payflex as a flexible, interest-free option. You sign up or log in, get approved in seconds, and choose how to split the purchase:

Plan How the payments are split
4 paymentsSpread over 6 weeks
3 paymentsSpread over 3 paydays
2 paymentsHalf now, half on your next payday

SHEIN's page describes the arrangement as having no fees. Read Payflex's own terms for what happens if you miss a payment, because an instalment plan is credit you have to repay on schedule. It suits a planned purchase better than an impulse buy during a big sale.

What SHEIN's Payment Page Does Not List

Cash on delivery, EFT and Apple Pay do not appear on SHEIN's South Africa payment page. Older guides sometimes mention other methods, so trust what you actually see at checkout, because the options shown can change over time. If anyone asks you to pay for a SHEIN order by EFT or a chat message outside the checkout, treat it as a scam and read our guide to spotting a fake online store.

Using Coupons and SHEIN Points at Checkout

The payment step is where your discounts apply, and a small slip here can make a code seem to fail. SHEIN's page sets out these rules:

  • Enter the coupon code exactly as you received it, with no spaces before, inside or after it. Copy and paste to avoid typos.
  • Click "apply" before you continue to checkout. If you skip it, the order total will not reflect your coupon or points.
  • Coupons cannot be combined, so you can use only one coupon code per order.
  • Coupons are subject to offer terms, and some items on the site are not eligible.
  • You can pay up to 70% of a purchase with bonus points, and 100 points equal $1.

Currency, Import Duties and Shipping at Checkout

SHEIN says the currency you pay in depends on your country and the payment method you choose, and you can change the default currency from the menu at the top right of the site. If your card is billed in a foreign currency, ask your bank how it converts and whether it adds a fee.

SHEIN's shipping page says import duties are already included in the final payment, so you do not pay extra tax on delivery. Standard shipping is free on orders over R1,050. Our guides on customs and import duty, free shipping and delivery times cover the details.

Which Payment Method Should You Choose?

  • Simplest checkout: a card, or PayPal if you already have an account.
  • No card details typed in: Capitec Pay, if you bank with Capitec.
  • Spread the cost: Payflex, provided you are confident you can meet each instalment.
